CLINICAL MEDICINE

The best care
Office visits:
A) Diagnosis and treatment of Acute Conditions
B) Diagnosis and treatment of Chronic Conditions
C) Coordination of Care
D) Referral to Specialists
E) Preventive Medicine
Our program includes Internal Medicine and Family Medicine specialists who provide Clinical Medical Care and Coordination of patient care.
We focus on screening, prevention and treatment of major medical conditions, as well as treatment of acute conditions. We coordinate the care of our patients i.e: order tests, refer patients to the appropriate specialists if needed and continue their care after the specialist complete their treatment
A) Diagnosis and treatment of Acute Conditions:
As Internist I am able to treat most everyday non catastrophic conditions that could affect our patients. We can also determine when a patient needs or does not need to be Urgently evaluated in the ER. This helps the patient avoid unnecessary visits to the ER which are usually expensive.
We have been able to successfully treat more than 540 patients with COVID19 and full SARS Cov2 patients. We have seen at least 100 patients with confirmed pneumonia by X ray and at least 30 patients who required oxygen were treated at home with Oxygen concentrators. Almost all of our patients survived the conditions and most of them did not present chronic respiratory problems related to COVID19.
Our patients can reach us on the phone or via Tele-medicine when faced with severe acute conditions so we can give them specific instructions.
Some of the conditions we see in our office on a daily bases are:
Minor injuries
Fevers
COVID19
Influenza
Skin Rashes
Allergic reactions
Joint pains
Tendinitis
Back aches
Runny noses
Sore Throats
Ear aches
Headaches
Urinary tract infections
Vomiting
Stomach aches
Constipation
Diarrhea
and many more
B) Diagnosis and treatment of Chronic Conditions:
Chronic medical conditions include the diseases that affect patients for years and are usually associated to poor health or eating habits. These conditions can slowly cause harm on different body systems that can be life threatening if improperly treated. Our approach to the treatment of chronic conditions is education and promotion of healthy living habits as well as medications.
Chronic Medical conditions include Diabetes, Hypertension, Elevated cholesterol, Hypothyroidism, Obesity, Osteoarthritis, etc.
Our first approach to treating chronic conditions is a personalized Diet Prescription, medications represent second line when diet alone does not improve the patient's condition or the patient is unable to follow the diet.
C) Coordination of Care:
We initially assess the patient, order tests to establish a likely diagnosis and start treatment. When necessary, we might order more specialized test either lab tests or radiology tests or we can refer the patient to the appropriate specialist or therapist depending on the patients' health condition. We make arrangements for their visits (see below). We continue to follow the patient after the specialist completes the treatment.
D) Referral to Specialists:
Our members have the opportunity to access specialists when needed for their condition.
When we refer patients to outside providers we take into consideration the quality of care they provide as well as their fees for services and the availability of payment plans for our patients. Our patients can decide to be seen immediately or to postpone the visit according to their budget. We always make sure that the Specialists we work with have a high level of integrity, knowledge, professionalism as well as empathy for their patients.
Providers we work with are in the area of Kansas City on both states KS and MO.
We contact the specialist’s office, obtain an appointment, determine the estimated fee range for the visit and likely procedure, prepare and send a chart summary, request a translator if needed and give this information to the patient.
Some of our providers: i.e therapists can assist patients via Skype with the obvious convenience for your employees.
The patient will still be responsible for specialists office visits , tests and procedures' fees. In general, the specialists’ our program works with ; charge $60.00- $200.00 for an initial office visit, depending on the Specialty. Procedures are paid separately, often; Specialists have payment plans whereby 25% of the total fee must be paid up front and the rest in monthly installments.
After the first visit, if the patient requires further testing or procedures by Specialists, we require that the Specialist contact us to let us know the tests and the procedures needed, the reason for them and the price so we can explain it to the patient and plan for it.
Note: Some specialist want to evaluate the patient before commiting to a procedure for them and want the patient to contact them directly without our intervention. We will inform you of these specialists.

E) Preventive Medicine:
The main pillar of our care is Preventive Medicine. Preventive Medicine focuses on early detection and treatment of chronic conditions and on prevention of infections through immunization. Chronic conditions such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, hypothyroidism, etc. can cause multi-organ disease if not treated on time.
Any chronic condition that is detected and treated at its early stages: 1) has more chances to be cured or controlled, 2) its treatment is less expensive than when the disease is in an advanced stage and 3) its impact on the patient's general health is mitigated.
We try to follow the recommendations of the USPSFT United States Preventive Services Task Force.
Many conditions are assessed and diagnosed with Preventive Medicine measures.
The diagnosis of most of these conditions is achieved by performing fasting blood tests.
